Paco Muńóz had a good game, but he could not keep the Rocky Mountain Nuggets from falling, 5-4, to the Las Vegas Flamingos at Nuggets Park. The Rocky Mountain catcher was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice in the loss. Las Vegas reliever John Brown picked up the win to move to 1-1. Magnus Scheving suffered the loss. Rocky Mountain, at 15-19, has lost 4 straight.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when pinch hitter Arsenio Laurel, who is rated as the 54th best prospect by BNN, hit a single. The Flamingos went on to win.
In postgame comments to the Las Vegas Chronicle, Laurel said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
