Gold Sox Shut Out Thundercats
|
Ernest Hawks never let the Thundercats get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his circle change, to pitch the Gold Sox to a 4-0 win. Hawks, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. The Gold Sox now have a record of 19-14 with the win over Richardson City.
It could have been a different outcome for Chicago, had it not been for Noel Ballard, the 34-year old second baseman . Ballard contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Chicago up, 2-0.
"Ernest was pounding the zone," said Chicago manager Greg Diersing.
