The Vancouver Grey Wolves moved to within one game of the Round 2033 today, downing the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids on the road at Atlantica by a score of 6-4. Grey Wolves right fielder Iván Vega was named player of the game after he went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win gives the Grey Wolves a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2032.
Gustavo Cortéz, who is rated as the 24th best prospect by BNN, chipped in for Vancouver with a 2-run home run in the top of the second. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Vega said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow in Hampton. The scheduled starters for the game are Ray Skipworth for Vancouver and Raúl Gómez for Northern Virginia.
