Almost There: Vancouver On Cusp of R2032 Triumph After 3-2 Win
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves moved to within one game of the Round 2033 today, downing the visiting Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Wolf Den in Vancouver by a score of 3-2. Grey Wolves right-hander Ray Skipworth was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Grey Wolves a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2032.
Preston Witt, who is rated as the 17th best prospect by BNN, aided the Vancouver cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-3 with a double.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Skipworth told reporters after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Wolf Den in Vancouver in Vancouver. Slated to start are Aurelio López for Northern Virginia and Pete Rhue for Vancouver.
