Almost There: Northern Virginia On Cusp of R2032 Triumph After 9-2 Win
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids moved to within one game of the Round 2033 today, downing the visiting Portland Evergreens at Atlantica by a score of 9-2. Rainbow Mermaids left fielder JoJo Victory was named player of the game after he went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win gives the Rainbow Mermaids a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2032.

Victory had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a 2-run double. The Rainbow Mermaids went on to win.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Victory said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The next game is scheduled for Friday.
