Almost There: New Orleans On Cusp of R2032 Triumph After 6-3 Win
New Orleans third baseman Orlando Velásquez was the key at The Voodoo Lounge today, being named player of the game as he powered the Voodoo to victory in a critical Game of the Round 2032. The Voodoo took the 6-3 win over the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.

Tied up with the Northern Lions BC in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Voodoo got a boost from center fielder Gerald Kaufman. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Kaufman saw a 0-1 changeup from Rafael Cardona and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put New Orleans on top, 3-2.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Velásquez told the New Orleans Times.
