Almost There: Portland On Cusp of R2032 Triumph After 9-6 Win
Portland right fielder Chris Payling was the key at Evergreen Park today, being named player of the game as he powered the Evergreens to victory in a critical Game of the Round 2032. The Evergreens took the 9-6 win over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.

Payling had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Evergreens went on to win.

"This was a good win for us," said Payling. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."

The next game is set to be played Tuesday, October 7th, 2031. The scheduled starters for the game are Gerald Keller for Portland and Ramón Molina for Northern Virginia.
