Raucous Doubledays Stadium Crowd Propels Doubledays to 6-3 Victory; Series Tied at 2
|
The Tremont Doubledays and the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds will take the SL AAA Championship to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Doubledays beat the Fighting Dachsunds 6-3 at Doubledays Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Tremont right-hander Christian Irgoyen was named player of the game in the win after he threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball.
Menno van de Vlugt went 1-2 with 2 walks against the Fighting Dachsunds. In the bottom of the first inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run, putting Tremont in front, 1-0.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Irgoyen. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The next game is scheduled for Saturday, September 27th, 2031 at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The scheduled starters for the game are Jeff Bradshaw for the Tremont Doubledays and Ed Stark for the the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds.
