McLennan, Fighting Dachsunds Sink Doubledays Again in Game 2
|
When the games really matter, the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds put on their best show, beating the Tremont Doubledays by a final score of 5-4 today. Alan McLennan earned player of the game honors, as he went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ellenburg now leads Tremont 2-0 in the best-of-5 affair.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, McLennan hit a slider from Travis Carson for a run-scoring single. The Fighting Dachsunds, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Tremont manager Lendon Tipton said following the tough loss.
The next game is set to be played Wednesday, September 24th, 2031 in Tremont. Slated to start are Ed Stark for the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds and Christian Irgoyen for the the Tremont Doubledays.
