Bloomington Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R1
|
The Bloomington Longnecks moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Salt Lake City Buzz at Lookouts Ballpark by a score of 8-1. Longnecks shortstop Silvio Bonauiti was named player of the game after he went 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. The win gives the Longnecks a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 PL AAA Championship.
Marshall Willis hit a 2-run triple off Poto Scacceri in the bottom of the third, which put the Longnecks in front, 2-0. Willis had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 4.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Bonauiti.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lookouts Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are Juan Ordóñez for the Salt Lake City Buzz and Nassim El-Badwi for the the Bloomington Longnecks.
