Blaze Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0
|
The South Beach Blaze faced a challenging opponent in Washington Generals right-hander Aiden Dubhghall, but did just enough to squeak out a 2-1 win in Game 3 of the PL A Championship today. South Beach now leads 3-0 in the best-of-5 series. The Blaze won despite the Generals getting an excellent start from starter Dubhghall, who allowed 2 earned runs at scattered 6 hits over 6.2 innings.
South Beach used the timely hitting of Barry Chambers to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blaze on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We've got a great group of guys," Chambers said, "and we're having fun right now."
