Fog Hammered by Cole, Drop Game 3 to Belugas
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of third baseman Brandon Cole, the Brinkley Belugas stopped the visiting Sunset District Fog, 7-4, in Game 3 of the 3L AAA Championship today. Cole went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Belugas, who now lead the best-of-5 series, 2 games to 1.
Had Cole not come through in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Cole hit a 3-run home run. The Belugas never looked back after taking the 7-4 lead.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Cole.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Belugas Ballpark in Brinkley. Slated to start are Miguel Cabańas for Sunset District and Pedro Huerta for Brinkley.
