Jets Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Round 2
|
Despite a great performance by Louisiana catcher Mike Goff, the Kennesaw Jets defeated the Dragoons by the score of 8-4 at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium today. Goff went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice to earn player of the game honors, but could not prevent the Jets from moving one game closer to the Round 2. Kennesaw now leads the 3L A Championship 2-0.
Alfred Owen chipped in for Kennesaw with a solo home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Owen. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The next game is set to be played Thursday, September 11th, 2031 at Jets Stadium in Kennesaw. The scheduled starters for the game are Bob Shepard for the Louisiana Dragoons and Júlio Gutiérrez for the the Kennesaw Jets.
