The Chicago Hawks moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Philadelphia 1776 BC on the road at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum by a score of 9-6. Hawks third baseman Luis Manuel Flores was named player of the game after he was 3-5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The win gives the Hawks a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.

Had Flores not come through in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Flores hit a bases-clearing triple. The Hawks never looked back after taking the 9-6 lead.

"Feels good to get the job done," Flores said after the game.
