The Boston Patriots have a critical edge over the Vancouver Grey Wolves in the Round 1, thanks to the veteran arm of John Kaufman.
Kaufman, 36, put on a dominant performance at Dunkin Donuts Park today, leading the Patriots to victory, 2-0, in a pivotal Game . Boston is now one game away from the United States Premier League Championship, leading the best-of- series by a margin of - . Vancouver will need to win both remaining games to advance.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the ninth inning, but Jorge Aguirre didn't flinch. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Vancouver trailing 2-0, Aguirre retired Urs van Munster to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Aguirre, with a wink.
