The Vancouver Grey Wolves have a critical edge over the Boston Patriots in the Round 1, thanks to the veteran arm of John Dempsey.
Dempsey, 31, put on a dominant performance at Wolf Den in Vancouver today, leading the Grey Wolves to victory, 3-1, in a pivotal Game . Arlen Joysey was the walk-off hero for Vancouver. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Grey Wolves catcher hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," Dempsey told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
