Third League Championship Game 1 Victory for Buchanan\n and Buckhead
The Buckhead Bowties moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting New Orleans Voodoo at 5 Paces Park by a score of 5-1. Bowties right-hander David Buchanan was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Bowties a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.

Buchanan was in the zone all game. He frustrated New Orleans hitters while giving the Bowties 6 innings of quality work. Buchanan threw 95 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 9 punchouts.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Buchanan. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
