Pivotal Game Goes to Host Express, 7-3
|
The Wizarding Express are one game away from a sweep after a 7-3 win over the visiting Athletic Club KC at Platform 9 3/4 today. Express right-hander Juan Torres was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 9 innings of 8-hit ball. Wizarding now holds a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
Nathan Tanner, who is on pace to hit 48 home runs this season, aided the Wizarding cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the left fielder went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Tanner. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
