The Phoenix Hotspur moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Rocky Mountain Nuggets at Chase Field by a score of 3-1. Hotspur right-hander Miguel Rubia was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Hotspur a - advantage in the best-of- Round 1.

Phoenix took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, designated hitter Harumi Takaki hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Takaki told the Phoenix Daily.
