Thundercats Hammered by Reyes, Fall Further Behind in R1
|
The Athletic Club KC moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Richardson City Thundercats on the road at The Thunder Dome by a score of 6-3. Athletic Club KC first baseman Jesús Reyes was named player of the game after he was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win gives the Athletic Club KC a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
Tied up with the Thundercats in the top of the fourth inning, the Athletic Club KC got a boost from second baseman Pedro Vázquez. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Vázquez saw a first pitch fastball from Júlio Martínez and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Athletic Club KC on top, 1-0.
Reyes told a Athletic Club KC Chronicle reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
