Thrice as Nice: Rocky Mountain Seizes - Advantage With Late Win
|
Manny Castro pitched well, but the Kingston Township Legion lost anyway, falling 4-3 in extra innings to the Rocky Mountain Nuggets at Nuggets Park. With the win, Rocky Mountain took a - lead in the best-of- Silver League Championship. Castro was named player of the game after giving the Legion 6.2 innings and allowing 3 earned runs.
Late in the game, shortstop Sergio Martínez had a big at-bat for Rocky Mountain. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single off John Riggleman. The play gave the Nuggets a 4-3 lead.
"This was a good win," said Martínez.
