Almost There: Buckhead On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 3-1 Win
|
A strong performance from pitcher Wes Hamm was not enough for the Phoenix Hotspur, who were stopped by the visiting Buckhead Bowties in a 3-1 loss in Game of the Third League Championship today. The Bowties never truly figured out the left-handed Hamm, who threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs to earn player of the game honors. Still, the Bowties now hold a - in the best-of- series.
Tyler MacHugh recorded a big out in the top of the ninth. Phoenix was trailing 3-1. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, MacHugh retired Francisco García when García lined out.
