Still Kicking: Vancouver Cut Greenville Series Lead to - With Late Win
|
An all-important Game of the Round 1 went into extra innings at 84s Field, with the Vancouver Grey Wolves eventually emerging on top. Vancouver has Iván Vega to thank, after the right fielder was 3-7 with 2 home runs and a walk in the 5-4 victory. The Grey Wolves are now one game away from the Round 2, holding a - lead in the best-of- series.
Late-game drama came in the top of the 13th inning. With no one out and the bases empty, the batter, Preston Witt, hit a double. It helped Vancouver seize the win.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Witt.
