Still Kicking: D.C. Cut Houston Series Lead to - With Late Win
The D.C. Divided needed some late heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the Round 2 today. The Divided needed 13 innings before taking the 6-5 win against the Houston 1837 BBC in a walk-off at Washington Stadium. D.C. second baseman Wilfred McLaughlin was named player of the game after he went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win gives the Divided a - advantage in the best-of- Round 1.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when D.C. catcher Mario Castillo, facing Gary Bailey, had a run-scoring double. It gave the Divided the 6-5 win.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Castillo said.
