Washington Park was the site of a tense game between the Gwinnett County Black Cats and Washington Generals.
The Washington Generals took Gwinnett County pitcher Timmo Vreke's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Washington Park. The final score had Washington getting past the Black Cats, 3-2. Vreke went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 12. Washington has now won 6 straight.
Bartolo Ramos had a nice at-bat for the Generals with two out in the bottom of the 11th. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the catcher drew a walk, which would prove important in the Washington win.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Washington manager Jacob Curtis.
