Chukars Pick Up 3-1 Win
|
Idaho Falls starter Hiroaki Nakagawa pitched effectively against the Walla Walla Walleye at Idaho Falls Park. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Nakagawa, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 1 walk. Rodrigo Hagen earned the save for Idaho Falls, his 1st of the year.
Early in the game, catcher Olaf Esveld had a 2-run single for Idaho Falls. It was his 83rd hit of the season and put the Chukars on top, 2-1.
Esveld attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
