Guzzlers Stymie Gwinnett County, Take 2-1 Win
|
The Galesburg Guzzlers topped the Gwinnett County Black Cats, 2-1, in USPL Single A action at Galesburg Field. The player of the game was Galesburg pitcher Robby Oglethorpe. Oglethorpe got the win, improving to 7-5. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. Oglethorpe allowed 1 earned run. Cristián Moreno was credited with the save for Galesburg, his 4th of the season.
Nestor Tantoco had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Guzzlers. Coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd and Galesburg trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run double.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Oglethorpe.
Galesburg is now 50-41.
