Macíel Strokes 5 Hits
The Richardson City Thundercats stopped the Rocky Mountain Nuggets by a score of 12-9 at Nuggets Park today, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Juan Macíel. The 23-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Macíel said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Macíel did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Nuggets.

"Not much that I can say," offered Rocky Mountain manager Matt Hunt. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Juan Macíel singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Omar Casteneda in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This year Macíel has hit at a .367 clip with 15 RBIs, 2 home runs and 15 runs scored.
