Walleye Roll to 8-2 Win Over Tula
|
The exploits of center fielder Oliver Villalva, the 25 overall pick in the 2031 draft, helped the Walla Walla Walleye defeat the Chicago Tula, 8-2. Villalva went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Greg Fontenot, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 4-7. Ronald Beedy sewed up the save, his 2nd.
Alejandro Blasco helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run double to give Walla Walla a 2-0 lead.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Blasco. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
