|
Chicago got a terrific performance from pitcher Jack Salt, but it wasn't enough to beat the Idaho Falls Chukars. Idaho Falls won the Idaho Falls Park contest, 5-4. Salt was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs. Idaho Falls is now 32-44.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Idaho Falls trailing 4-3, Petri Kallio hit a fastball from Mark Morgan to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Chukars had a walk-off win.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Chicago manager Joe Richard. "The effort was great."
