South Beach Hot Streak Continues with 6-1 Win
|
The South Beach Blaze topped the Columbia River Rats, 6-1, in USPL Single A action at Columbia Stadium. The player of the game was South Beach pitcher Tony Sánchez. South Beach reliever Tony Sánchez was credited with the win, to go to 4-5. Giel Overwater took the loss for Columbia. The winning continues for South Beach, with the latest making it 7 straight.
The Blaze got a big at-bat from second baseman Terry John. For the game, John was 2-5 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave South Beach a 3-1 lead.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," John told the South Beach Bulletin.
