Dominant Performance by Marín in Columbia Win
|
Columbia and Idaho Falls duked it out at Idaho Falls Park and the River Rats came out victorious.
Pitcher José Marín was sensational for the Columbia River Rats in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Idaho Falls Chukars. Marín received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Wayne Quint closed the game out for Columbia, earning his 1st save.
The River Rats liked what they saw from Marín. The 21-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Chukars to 1 earned run on 2 hits over 7 innings, and striking out 9.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Columbia manager Bill Beasley.
The Chukars, now 24-38, have lost 7 straight.
