Chukars Come Back Late, Nip River Rats
|
Idaho Falls Chukars starter Noah Beck was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Columbia River Rats, 3-2. Idaho Falls reliever Rodrigo Hagen was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Marvin Sidebottom. The River Rats, at 6-22, have lost 4 in a row.
Had Jesús Sosa not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Sosa hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Chukars.
"That's baseball," said Columbia manager Bill Beasley. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
