Kim Helps Guzzlers Run Win Streak to 3
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Mei Kim, the Galesburg Guzzlers defeated the Idaho Falls Chukars, 9-0. Kim went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 4 times and drove in 2 for the Guzzlers. Marcos Tejedor got the win, improving to 2-4. He held the Chukars to no earned runs on 2 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Bartolo Morales finished the game for Galesburg and earned his 1st save.
In the top of the first inning, second baseman Moriz Ayushiev delivered a key hit for the Guzzlers. With Galesburg leading 1-0, he ripped a 2-run home run.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Galesburg manager Rickey Burrell.
Galesburg now owns a record of 12-12.
