River Rats Solve Reapers, 4-2

Columbia River Rats starter Jacob Petithomme turned in a top-notch performance against the Grim Reapers at The Coffin. The result was a win for the River Rats, 4-2. In 7 innings, Petithomme surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Marvin Sidebottom picked up the save, his 1st.
Columbia used the bat of Javier Cordero to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the River Rats ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
Petithomme expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
Even with the win, the River Rats have a dismal 5-16 record.
