Reapers Come Up Short at Idaho Falls
|
Idaho Falls rode a fine outing from starter Tony Smehrik to victory over the Grim Reapers at Idaho Falls Park. The final score was 3-2. The Chukars, now 3-8, have not found much traction so far in 2031.
Had Olaf Esveld not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Esveld hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Chukars.
Esveld said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
