Chukars Suffer 8-5 Setback
|
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 topped the Idaho Falls Chukars by the score of 8-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Carlos Rodríguez. Rodríguez went 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times for the Hotspur U-21 on the day. Tim Yoder got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 5 runs on 11 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Getting the save was Neal Burns, his 3rd.
Los Angeles, California-born Tyler Hannah came through in the clutch. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd and the Hotspur U-21 trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run double to left to put Phoenix on top.
"We came out aggressive," said Hotspur U-21 manager Howard Martínez. "We came out swinging the bats."
With the win, Phoenix pushes its record to 5-4.
