South Beach pitcher Shalom Levasier did his part in helping his team beat the Idaho Falls Chukars, 10-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Levasier, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. The Blaze, now 3-1, have been on a roll in the early going.
Bart Goodine aided the South Beach cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the first. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 times.
