The Bellevue Bruins defeated the Put-In-Bay BC, 8-3, in USSL Single A action at Put-In-Bay Ballpark, with Bellevue first baseman Vicente Gonzáles named player of the game. Walter Boisson got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 3 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 5. Put-In-Bay's current losing streak is now 7 games.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth when Gonzáles, who is tied for 7th in the SA in RBI with 39, hit a solo home run. It propelled the Bruins into the lead, 1-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Gonzáles told the Bellevue Observer.
