Both teams had their chances, but the Connetquot Chiefs eventually prevailed at The Big Teepee.
Louis Teague made an impact in the 6-5 Connetquot win over Syracuse. Teague, who is tied for 9th in the SA in stolen bases with 9, was 3 for 3 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Connetquot reliever John Kraan picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Peter Ventola was saddled with the loss. Orynn Veillon earned the save for Connetquot, his 12th of the year.
Connetquot took a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, pinch hitter Dan Chrzan hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"We take it day by day here," said Teague, "and today was a good one for us."
Connetquot has now won 3 in a row.
