Thrilling Walk-Off Win for BC
|
The Put-In-Bay BC did just enough to secure a 6-5 victory over the Hammond Herons at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Eric Alderliesten, who captured player of the game honors. Tupac Blanch, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1 innings. Put-In-Bay has now won 4 straight.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Put-In-Bay center fielder Ángel Venegas, facing Curt Wright, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the BC the 6-5 win.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Alderliesten.
