The Hogsmeade Cauldrons got a superb performance from second baseman Yasuyuki Hagi. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Bellevue. The Bruins won the game, 7-6. In spite of the loss, Hagi was named the player of the game. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Júlio Díaz got credit for the win, improving to 2-4. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 6 innings. Bellevue, at 17-20, occupies 8th place in the Silver A.
Had Datu Lesaca not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Lesaca hit a 2-run double. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Bruins.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Lesaca.
