Nuggets Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Rocky Mountain Nuggets defeated the Chicago Gold Sox, 7-3, in United States Silver League action at Nuggets Park, with Rocky Mountain pitcher Will Moore named player of the game. Rocky Mountain reliever Hunter Wilson picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Júlio Palma was collared with the loss. Rocky Mountain, now 2-5, is off to a slow start.
The Nuggets got a big at-bat from first baseman Roberto Sánchez. For the game, Sánchez went 4-5 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 14th hit of the season gave Rocky Mountain a 5-3 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Moore told the Rocky Mountain Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
