Fans who came to Carrier Field watched the Delaware 1787 BC and the Syracuse Storm fight to the finish.

The 1787 BC faced a stiff challenge from Syracuse pitcher Ken French, but persevered to claim a win at Carrier Field. The final score was 3-2. French went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Amando Codes earned the save for Delaware, his 6th of the year.

Had Elwiin Hund not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Hund hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the 1787 BC.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Hund said.

The 1787 BC bumped their record to 19-15 with this latest triumph.
