BC Turn Back Syracuse, 3-1
The Put-In-Bay BC picked up a win at Storm Park, knocking off the Syracuse Storm, 3-1. Starting pitcher Theodore Pillete, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Pillete got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 10 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Pillete allowed 1 earned run. At 18-14, Put-In-Bay is in third place in the Silver A.

The BC got a big at-bat from left fielder Ángel Venegas. For the game, Venegas went 2-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 13th double of the season gave Put-In-Bay a 2-1 lead.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Pillete. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
