Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Yellowknife Dragonblood got the win.
The Dragonblood faced a stiff challenge from Delaware pitcher Ángel Gardener, but persevered to claim a win at Carrier Field. The final score was 4-2. Gardener went 8 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. The 1787 BC drop to 5-5 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2031 season.
Gerrie Bond was 1-4 for Yellowknife. The 18-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Ángel Gardener. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"It feels good to get this one," Bond told the Yellowknife Today.
