Dragonblood Roll to 8-2 Win Over Herons
|
The Yellowknife Dragonblood thumped the Hammond Herons, 8-2, at The Heron Refuge. Bill Boyd was a big reason his team got the win. Boyd went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Yellowknife starter Carl MacPherson was credited with the win after throwing 105 pitches over 8.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. Yellowknife has a record of 3-4.
Boyd came through with some timely hitting for Yellowknife. With the score 2-1 in the top of the second and one down, Boyd hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single. His 5th hit of the season made it 4-1, Yellowknife.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Boyd.
