The Bellevue Bruins and Hogsmeade Cauldrons brought some excitement to Bellevue Field.
Hogsmeade catcher Mariano Saelices was instrumental in his team's 8-2 win over the Bellevue Bruins. Saelices, who is rated as the 98th best prospect by BNN, went 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cauldrons. Constant Goerts went 6.1 innings for Hogsmeade to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 2 earned runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 7. His record improves to 1-0.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth inning. Facing Bellevue hurler Júlio Díaz, Lu Tsai hit a run-scoring single. The Cauldrons went on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Hogsmeade manager Jamie Randall.
With the win, Hogsmeade boosts its record to 4-1.
