Bulls Bang Out 6-1 Win Versus Kennesaw
|
It was a good time at Belleville Field, where fans came to watch the Kennesaw Jets and Belleville Bulls get after it.
Behind a solid performance from third baseman Don McGhee, the Belleville Bulls defeated the Kennesaw Jets, 6-1. McGhee was 2-3 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs for the Bulls. Nelson Martínez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Luqman Barcoo was tagged with the loss. Walid bin Amid, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.
The Bulls got a big at-bat from designated hitter Rey McSriff. For the game, McSriff went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 18th double of the season gave Belleville a 3-1 lead.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Bulls manager Lockwood Rose, "I like our chances."
Belleville is now 35-46, Kennesaw 49-32.
