Niagara Falls had no answer for Belleville Bulls starter António Esquivel, who flummoxed Expos hitters as the Bulls cruised to a 7-0 victory. The winning pitcher was Esquivel, now 3-5. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. Walid bin Amid, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
Aron Cruickshank helped out the Belleville cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the center fielder went 2-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Esquivel told the Belleville Chronicle. "You win just by scoring more runs."
At 29-42, Belleville is in 10th place in the Menard's A.
